Privacy & Data Handling
Understanding how Pulse processes your GitHub data

We Don't Store Your Code

Pulse is a read-only service that only accesses public repository activity data through GitHub's official API. We never download, store, or process your actual source code files. Our analysis is based solely on repository metadata like commit messages, pull request descriptions, issue titles, and release notes.

We Don't Write to Your Repositories

Pulse has no write access to your GitHub repositories. We use OAuth authentication with read-only permissions, which means we can only view repository activity data - we cannot create, modify, or delete any code, issues, pull requests, or other repository content.

What We Actually Process

Our AI analysis is limited to:

  • Commit messages and timestamps
  • Pull request titles, descriptions, and metadata
  • Issue titles, descriptions, and status updates
  • Release notes and version information
  • Repository activity statistics and trends

Code Snippets Are Optional

When you enable code snippets in your digest configuration, we only include small, contextual code snippets from commit diffs when available. These snippets are processed in real-time during digest generation and are not stored in our database. You have full control over whether to include code snippets in your digests.

Security First: All data processing happens in memory during digest generation and follows GitHub's security best practices. Your GitHub access tokens are encrypted and only used for API authentication.
